A New Software That Blocks Transactions
Money transfer giant PayPal has added Gamban software to its platform, allowing users from the United States of America and Great Britain to block online transactions that are in favor of gambling operators. This includes gambling transactions related to both virtual and physical casino games such as slot machines and table games, but also a whole variety of games of chance, or skill, which encompass an entry fee and a prize.
In addition, the blocking software could be applied to the following gambling transactions: horse racing, lottery, person-to-person betting, greyhound racing, and sports betting. Back in 2019, the worldwide famous payment service did a review of its payment rules and controls, right after growing concern that PayPal was being exploited to enable uncontrolled online gambling.
Apart from transactions directly tied to gambling, Gamban can block money transfers to websites that are indirectly related to the gambling industry. It could be a venue related to gambling, intermediaries such as bookies, online forums for person-to-person betting, gambling-related venues, and similar facilities.
The blocking platform representatives said in this regard that “Between blocking gambling transactions at your bank and PayPal, blocking online gambling with Gamban, self-excluding yourself with Gamstop and seeking support from GamCare you’ll give yourself the best chance at recovery.”
