BitStarz Casino Review

BitStarz Casino review, October 2026: CGA licence OGL/2024/165/0185 (Gareton B.V.), up to €500 or 5 BTC + 180 spins at 40x, crypto payouts, restrictions.

The verdict

BitStarz still earns its reputation as one of the original crypto casinos: a published CGA licence, a large and well-filtered game library, provably fair Originals and a cashier that pays crypto in large amounts without casino fees. The parts that need care are the bonus terms and the geography.

Scored by Lilly Von Brough using our published rating method.

BitStarz is still operating in October 2026 and still accepts players from most of the world, but not from the UK, the US, France, Spain, the Netherlands and a long list of other countries. It runs under a Curaçao Gaming Authority licence (OGL/2024/165/0185) held by Gareton B.V., offers a welcome package of up to €500 or 5 BTC plus 180 free spins over four deposits, and sets 40x wagering with a €5 maximum bet. Crypto withdrawals are the strong point; heavy bonus play is not.

Alright Bros, pull up a chair. BitStarz has been around since 2014, which in crypto casino years makes it roughly as old as the pyramids. We went back through its terms, bonus rules, cashier page and VIP terms line by line, so this refresh is about what the casino says today, not what it said when Bitcoin was cheap. Short version: still a heavyweight, still picky about countries, and the small print deserves your attention before you hit deposit.

This review is for international readers. If you live in a country on BitStarz’s restricted list (below), the casino will not let you play for real money, and using a VPN to get around that breaks its terms and can cost you your winnings.

Pros and Cons

Here is how the casino stacks up once you read past the homepage banners.

Pros

  • Current Curaçao Gaming Authority licence under the 2024 law, with the licence number and holder printed in the footer and terms.
  • Strong crypto cashier: 12 coins, no casino fees and up to €50,000 per crypto withdrawal.
  • One of the larger game libraries we have seen, with Evolution for live tables and provably fair Originals.
  • Regular promotions that do not need a deposit match: Slot Wars, Table Wars (no wagering on prizes) and a Level Up prize ladder.
  • Track record: the brand has traded since 2014.

Cons

  • Long restricted-country list, plus extra bonus exclusions for Austria, Finland and much of the Balkans.
  • 40x wagering and a 7-day expiry on welcome bonuses are tough to clear.
  • Reload Monday and Wednesday Free Spins need four previous deposits before you qualify.
  • Bank transfers pay out in EUR only and can take 3 to 10 banking days.
  • The VIP Starz Club is invitation only, and BitStarz says it expects VIPs to deposit around €5,000 a month on average.

Licence, Owner and Safety

BitStarz’s terms (last updated 25 June 2025) name Gareton B.V. as the company that manages the site. Gareton is registered in Curaçao under number 160656, with its office at Landhuis Zuikertuin, Zuikertuintjeweg z/n, Willemstad, and the terms state that it is licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority under licence OGL/2024/165/0185. The same details appear in the site footer.

Older reviews, including the previous version of this page, named Dama N.V. as the owner. That is out of date: the current terms and footer only mention Gareton B.V. We could not pin down the exact date of the switch, only that the June 2025 terms already name Gareton.

Some background on the licence helps here. Curaçao replaced its old master-licence and sublicence system with a new gaming law, the Landsverordening op de kansspelen (LOK), which came into force on 24 December 2024. Licences now come directly from the Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA), and numbers in the “OGL/2024/…” format belong to that system. You can check a licence on the CGA’s site, cga.cw. Be aware that the CGA confirmed unauthorised access to its portal on 17 and 22 September 2026, the portal was still offline on 2 October 2026, and the authority says existing licences remain valid.

A Curaçao licence is lighter touch than a Malta Gaming Authority licence. In practice that matters most when something goes wrong, which brings us to complaints.

How to complain if a payout goes wrong

  1. Casino first. Open live chat or email [email protected]. The terms say complaints are handled by support and escalated inside the company if not solved straight away.
  2. Keep records. Screenshots of the bonus terms you accepted, your transaction history and chat transcripts. BitStarz’s terms say its server records are final in a dispute, so your own evidence counts.
  3. Independent route. The CGA does not mediate individual player disputes. Its route is one of the CGA-certified alternative dispute resolution (ADR) bodies; the CGA published a list of seven on 31 August 2026. BitStarz’s own complaints page also points players to the AskGamblers complaints service.
  4. Time limit. Section 15 of the terms says any claim must be filed within six months of the event.

Restricted Countries

Section 3.6 of the terms lists the countries and territories whose residents cannot deposit or play for real money. As of October 2026 the list is:

United States of America, Puerto Rico, Greece, United Kingdom (including its overseas territories), Isle of Man, Jersey, Gibraltar, Spain, France and its overseas territories (Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Réunion, Mayotte, St. Martin, French Polynesia, Wallis and Futuna, New Caledonia), Netherlands, Israel, Lithuania, Slovakia, Belgium, Dutch West Indies, Angola, Albania, Iraq, Jamaica, Uganda, Pakistan, Iran, Panama, Lebanon, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Nicaragua, Yemen, Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Sudan, Liberia, Syria, Cayman Islands, Somalia, Congo, North Korea, Eritrea, Haiti, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Myanmar, South Sudan, Burkina Faso, Libya, Mali, Barbados, Rwanda, Czech Republic and Serbia.

Two more layers apply on top of that list:

  • No promotions at all for players from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Austria, Kosovo and Finland, unless a promotion says otherwise.
  • No no-deposit free spins for players from a further 60-plus countries, including Germany, Norway, India, the Philippines, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Morocco.

Individual studios add their own blocks. NetEnt games, for example, are not offered in Australia, Denmark, Italy, Portugal, Romania and many other countries, and Canadians cannot play NYX titles. A note for Australian readers: under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, offering online casino games to Australians is an offence for the operator, not the player, and we do not recommend offshore casinos for Australian residents.

BitStarz Welcome Package and Bonuses

The headline offer in EUR is “€500 or 5 BTC + 180 Free Spins”. The first deposit gets a 100% match up to 1 BTC plus 180 free spins (promotions page), and BitStarz’s bonuses page adds up to €400 or 4 BTC across the next three deposits. In BTC terms the split is up to 1 BTC, 1 BTC, 2 BTC and 1 BTC. Visitors from Canada and New Zealand see the headline as CA$2,000 or NZ$2,000, so the amount depends on your currency.

Term Rule (BitStarz bonus terms, last updated 25 June 2025)
Qualifying deposit Above €20 (or 0.0008 BTC, 0.226 LTC, 0.07 ETH and so on); added automatically, no code
Free spins 180 in total: 20 straight after the first deposit, then 20 a day for the next 8 days
Spin condition The first deposit must be wagered at least once within 24 hours
Spin expiry Open the game within 1 day of the spins landing and play them within 1 day
Wagering 40x the bonus; 40x on free spin winnings
Validity Welcome package bonuses: 7 days
Max bet €5 per round while a bonus is active, including bonus buys and double-up gambles
Game weighting Table, live, instant-win, lottery and bingo games “typically” count 5%; progressive jackpot games do not count
Cancelling Allowed, but you lose the bonus and its winnings; cancelling the welcome spins stops the rest of the spin batches

What 40x means in real money

Wagering is worked out on the bonus, not on deposit plus bonus. Take a €100 first deposit that triggers the full €100 match:

  • Wagering needed: €100 x 40 = €4,000 in bets.
  • At the €5 maximum bet that is at least 800 spins; at €1 a spin it is 4,000 spins.
  • On a slot with a 96% return to player, €4,000 of bets costs about €160 on average (4% of €4,000). That is more than the €100 bonus itself, so on paper the average player finishes with nothing from the bonus.
  • Play blackjack instead and only 5% of each bet counts, so you would need €80,000 of table bets to clear the same €100. Not realistic.

The maths is the same for every casino with 40x terms: the bonus extends play time, it rarely creates profit. If you mainly want quick crypto withdrawals, skipping the bonus keeps your balance free to cash out. One condition still applies without a bonus: section 8.7.5 of the terms says each deposit must be played through at least once before withdrawal.

No-deposit free spins

New accounts get free spins on sign-up once the email address is verified; BitStarz’s welcome FAQ describes this as 20 free spins. The rules are strict:

  • Winnings are capped at €100 (or $100, 150 CAD/AUD/NZD, 0.00122 BTC).
  • Wagering is 40x, and you must deposit at least €20 before any no-deposit winnings can be withdrawn.
  • Disposable email addresses do not qualify, and BitStarz may ask for KYC before paying a no-deposit win.
  • More than 60 countries are excluded (see the restricted section).

Reload Monday and Wednesday Free Spins

The 50% Reload Monday bonus pays 50% on the first deposit of the day, up to $300 (the promotions page example: put in $600, play with $900). BitStarz can cut the rate to 25% for players it considers to receive too many bonuses relative to their deposits.

Wednesday Free Spins scale with the size of your Wednesday deposit, up to 200 spins, and are credited the next day. The deposit must be wagered once to qualify, and spins arrive in your last active currency.

The catch for newcomers: both promotions require four earlier deposits, not counting the deposits used to claim the promotion. In practice they are for regulars, not new sign-ups.

Tournaments and Level Up

  • Slot Wars: weekly slot tournament with a €5,000 + 5,000 free spins prize pool. You enter by playing slots; no opt-in.
  • Table Wars: weekly table-game tournament with a €10,000 prize pool paid across the top 40 places, and no wagering on prizes.
  • Level Up Adventure: a progress bar that pays rewards as you play, from an individual prize pool of €50,000 per player, so you do not compete against anyone. It runs in themed seasons (the current one is called Haunted Fortune) and needs one lifetime deposit.
  • Friday Loyalty Bonus: a cashback-style bonus; winnings from it are capped at €100 unless you are on a VIP cashback deal.

How to sign up and claim the welcome package

  1. Check that your country is not on the restricted list and that you are 18 or over (or older, where your local law says so).
  2. Register with an email address, a password and your currency. BitStarz says this takes under a minute and needs no documents to start.
  3. Verify your email. Without that step the no-deposit spins are not released.
  4. Upload ID and proof of address straight away, so a later withdrawal is not held up by KYC.
  5. Make a first deposit above €20 (or the crypto equivalent). The 100% match and the first 20 spins are added automatically; there is no bonus code.
  6. Wager that deposit at least once within 24 hours, or the remaining 160 spins will not arrive.
  7. Log in daily for the next 8 days and open the spin game within a day each time, because unused batches expire.

If you would rather play without a bonus, cancel it in “My Rewards and Prizes” before you start betting, or tell support. Cancelling later means losing any bonus winnings.

Is the bonus worth taking?

It depends on how you play. Slot players who deposit small amounts and enjoy longer sessions get the most from the match and the 180 spins. Players who mainly want table games, live dealers or fast cashouts usually do better without it, because those games count only 5% and an active bonus locks the deposit until wagering is done or the bonus is cancelled. High rollers should note the €5 bet cap: it makes clearing a large bonus within 7 days very difficult.

VIP Starz Club

BitStarz’s VIP programme is by invitation only. VIP managers review accounts weekly and invite players based on deposits, wagering and account age. Its VIP terms are unusually frank about what it takes to keep the status: BitStarz says it expects VIPs to deposit about €5,000 a month on average.

What members get, according to the VIP pages:

  • A weekly cashback paid every Friday (by 16:00 CET) on a losing week, at a higher rate than the standard Friday Loyalty Bonus.
  • A manual bonus of up to 10% of losses when a VIP loses €500 or more between Friday and Thursday without triggering another bonus. It is discretionary, not guaranteed.
  • A 50% reload on the first eligible deposit each Thursday.
  • No maximum cash-out or maximum bet on many bonuses, and priority cashouts.
  • A dedicated VIP team at [email protected] and early access to new games.

For a casual player, none of this is in reach. For a high-volume crypto player, the cashback and the removal of bonus caps are the main draw.

Games and Software Providers

BitStarz’s game studio page listed 6,549 games in October 2026 across more than 90 studios. Its marketing pages quote “6,000+” and “8,000+” in different places, so treat the exact count as moving. The biggest studios by number of titles were:

Studio Games listed
Pragmatic Play 602
VoltENT 286
BGaming 275
Red Tiger Gaming 272
Booming Games 227
1spin4win 217
Amusnet 215
Endorphina 206
Hacksaw 202
Betsoft Gaming 198
Evolution 121
NetEnt 122
Yggdrasil 120

Other names include Nolimit City, Relax Gaming, Thunderkick, Big Time Gaming, Kalamba, Novomatic, Platipus, Mascot, Iron Dog Studio and Amatic. Playtech has a single title.

Slots

Slots make up the vast majority of the library: classic three-reelers, Megaways, Hold and Win, bonus-buy games and Drops and Wins network titles. Lobby filters include hot and cold games over 24 hours, biggest wins and new releases, which makes a big catalogue easier to browse. Remember the €5 max bet and the bonus-buy rule if you play with bonus money: buying a feature above the limit can void the bonus.

BitStarz Originals and provably fair games

BitStarz lists 18 in-house Originals, and many of them are provably fair: a “Fairness” tab explains how to check each result. Studios such as BGaming, Evoplay and SoftSwiss also offer provably fair titles, marked with a “Provability” button. This is a real advantage of crypto casinos: you can verify a round yourself rather than trusting a certificate.

Live casino

The live lobby is mostly Evolution, with Plati+ and Lucky Streak tables mixed in. Expect live blackjack, roulette, baccarat and game shows. Keep the bonus rules in mind: live games typically count only 5% towards wagering, so live players are better off playing with cash, or with VIP cashback if they qualify.

Jackpots and table games

There is a dedicated jackpots category, plus BitStarz’s own Jackpotz Mania promotion. Progressive jackpot games do not count towards bonus wagering. RNG table games cover blackjack, roulette, baccarat, poker variants and video poker.

Payment Methods and Withdrawal Limits

The casino charges no deposit or withdrawal fees on any method listed on its payments page (your bank or wallet may still charge). Limits below are per transaction, as shown on the BitStarz payments page from an EU connection in October 2026.

Deposits

Method Min Max Speed
Visa / Mastercard €20 €4,000 Instant
MiFinity €20 €4,000 Instant
Open banking (IBAN) €10 €8,500 Instant
Pay via bank €20 €4,000 Instant
Apple Pay €20 €1,000 Instant
Bitcoin (incl. Lightning) 0.0001 BTC None listed Instant
Ethereum 0.005 ETH None listed Instant
Litecoin 0.075 LTC None listed Instant
USDT / USDC 10 None listed Instant
Solana, Dogecoin, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, Tron, Cardano, BNB From 0.05 SOL, 20 DOGE, 5 XRP, 0.02 BCH, 30 TRX, 8 ADA None listed Instant

Methods shown change by country: Canadian players see Interac and other local options, for instance. Card deposits may appear on your statement in EUR or USD, and your bank may add a conversion fee.

Withdrawals

Method Min Max per transaction
All listed cryptocurrencies €50 equivalent €50,000
MiFinity €50 €10,000
Open banking (IBAN) €10 €9,000
Pay via bank / bank transfer €50 (one bank option €100) €4,000

The rules that matter more than the table, all from the terms:

  • Speed: BitStarz says it tries to pay withdrawals within 1 hour and quotes a 10-minute average, but large wins are checked with the game provider first and take longer.
  • Bank transfers are paid in EUR and take 3 to 10 banking days; USD bank transfers are not available.
  • USD depositors can only withdraw to e-wallets such as Interac, Instadebit, iDebit, MiFinity or MuchBetter.
  • Same-method rule: winnings go back to the method you deposited with (deposit with Skrill, withdraw to Skrill). Card deposits can be returned as refunds up to the amount deposited, with the rest paid another way.
  • Large wins can be paid in monthly instalments (section 8.7.3).
  • Play-through: each deposit must be wagered at least once before you withdraw it.

Verification (KYC)

BitStarz can ask for KYC at any point and usually does before a first larger withdrawal. Typical documents are photo ID, proof of payment (showing your name, the amount and the date) and proof of address issued within the last 90 days. It may also ask for a selfie with your ID or call the phone number on your account. If it cannot reach you by email or phone within two weeks of a withdrawal request, the account is locked until you complete verification. Doing KYC right after sign-up is the easiest way to avoid a stuck payout.

Currencies

Fiat: Euro, US Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Australian Dollar, New Zealand Dollar, Japanese Yen and Norwegian Krone. Crypto: Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ripple, Dogecoin, Cardano, Binance Coin, Tron, Tether, Solana and USD Coin. The casino does not convert between crypto and fiat for you, and a crypto deposit below the minimum shown on the deposit page is lost.

Mobile Casino and App

BitStarz runs in any modern mobile browser, and the lobby, cashier and live chat all work on a phone. Android users can also download an app as an APK file straight from BitStarz’s own site (version 1.1.21, about 121 MB, Android 12 or newer). It is not on Google Play; BitStarz says Google does not allow real-money casino apps of this kind. To install it you have to allow “install unknown apps” in your phone settings, so only download it from bitstarz.com itself. We found no iPhone app; iOS players use the browser site.

Customer Support

Support is available 24/7 by live chat and by email at [email protected], with a separate VIP team at [email protected]. BitStarz says all its support agents have at least three years of casino experience. The help centre covers accounts, deposits and withdrawals, bonuses, security and responsible gaming. Live chat is the faster channel for bonus questions; email is better when you need to send documents.

Responsible Gaming Tools

BitStarz’s Play Safe page offers self-exclusion through support (email [email protected]) and points to GamCare, Gordon House and Gamblers Anonymous. Its terms also describe deposit limits per payment method. Compared with casinos licensed in stricter markets, the toolset is thin: there is no national self-exclusion scheme behind it. Set your own budget before you deposit, avoid chasing losses with reloads, and contact Gamblers Anonymous (gamblersanonymous.org) or a local helpline if gambling stops being fun.

Other Terms Worth Knowing

  • Dormant accounts: after six months without logging in, BitStarz can charge a monthly fee of at least €5 while your balance is positive.
  • One account per household, IP and PC. Duplicate accounts can be closed and winnings voided.
  • Minimal-risk betting (for example red and black on the same roulette spin) does not count towards wagering.
  • Disputes go to arbitration in Curaçao under Curaçao civil procedure rules.
  • Age: 18+, or the higher legal age in your country.

How BitStarz Compares

If BitStarz restricts your country, or if you prefer an EU licence, have a look at our casino reviews. For bonus hunters, our guides to welcome bonuses, free spins and no deposit bonuses compare wagering across brands, and the casino bonus hub explains reloads and cashback. On a phone, our mobile casinos page covers which brands offer app-style installs. Among the other international brands we review, Slot Hunter holds a Malta Gaming Authority licence, while Joo Casino is another long-running Curaçao-licensed casino.

Factor BitStarz Typical Curaçao crypto casino
Licence CGA OGL/2024/165/0185, number published Often CGA, sometimes no number shown
Welcome wagering 40x bonus 35x to 50x bonus
Max crypto withdrawal €50,000 per transaction Often weekly caps of a few thousand
Casino fees None Some charge on cards or bank
Restricted countries Very long list Varies

Our Verdict

BitStarz still earns its reputation as one of the original crypto casinos: a published CGA licence, a large and well-filtered game library, provably fair Originals and a cashier that pays crypto in large amounts without casino fees. The parts that need care are the bonus terms and the geography. A 40x requirement with a 7-day window and a €5 bet cap makes the welcome package hard to clear, the best reloads need four previous deposits, and a long list of countries cannot play at all.

Our advice: verify your account early, decide whether you actually want the bonus before your first deposit, and treat the Level Up and tournament promotions as the better value for regular play. If your country is on the restricted list, do not try to work around it.

BitStarz FAQ

Is BitStarz legit and licensed?

Yes. BitStarz is run by Gareton B.V., registered in Curaçao (no. 160656), and its terms and footer state a Curaçao Gaming Authority licence, OGL/2024/165/0185. It has operated since 2014. A Curaçao licence offers less player protection than an MGA licence, and the CGA does not mediate individual disputes.

Who owns BitStarz now?

The current terms, last updated 25 June 2025, name Gareton B.V. as the operator. Older reviews name Dama N.V.; that information is out of date.

What is the BitStarz welcome bonus?

Up to €500 or 5 BTC plus 180 free spins over four deposits. The first deposit gets a 100% match up to 1 BTC plus the spins, and the next three deposits add up to €400 or 4 BTC. The minimum qualifying deposit is €20, and no code is needed.

What are the BitStarz wagering requirements?

Bonuses must be wagered 40 times, and free spin winnings also carry 40x wagering. Welcome package bonuses expire after 7 days, the maximum bet is €5 while a bonus is active, and table and live games typically count only 5%.

Does BitStarz have a no deposit bonus?

Yes, new players who verify their email get free spins on sign-up; BitStarz’s FAQ describes 20 spins. Winnings are capped at €100, need 40x wagering and a €20 deposit before withdrawal, and more than 60 countries are excluded.

How long do BitStarz withdrawals take?

BitStarz aims to pay within an hour and quotes a 10-minute average for crypto on verified accounts. Large wins are checked with the game provider first. Bank transfers take 3 to 10 banking days.

What is the minimum withdrawal at BitStarz?

€50 on most methods, including crypto (in coin equivalent), and €10 via open banking. Crypto withdrawals go up to €50,000 per transaction.

Can I deposit by card and withdraw in Bitcoin?

Not freely. Withdrawals have to go back to the method you deposited with, and card deposits can be refunded to the card up to the amount deposited before any excess is paid another way.

Which countries can’t play at BitStarz?

Among others the USA, UK, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Israel, Lithuania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Serbia. Players from Austria, Finland and several Balkan countries can play but cannot claim promotions.

Does BitStarz have an app?

There is an Android app you download as an APK from bitstarz.com (Android 12 or newer). It is not on Google Play, and there is no iPhone app; iOS players use the mobile site.

Are BitStarz games fair?

Many BitStarz Originals and some BGaming and Evoplay titles are provably fair, so you can check each round yourself. Other games come from established studios such as Pragmatic Play, NetEnt and Evolution.

How do I join the BitStarz VIP club?

You cannot apply. VIP managers review accounts weekly and invite eligible players, and BitStarz says it expects VIPs to deposit about €5,000 a month on average to keep the status.
