Golden Crown Casino Review: Blocked by ACMA (Status Update)
Golden Crown Casino review for Australians: eight domains on ACMA's blocked list, operator Metlait SRL, Tobique licence, bonus terms and what to do now.

Golden Crown Casino is on the Australian Communications and Media Authority’s (ACMA) list of blocked illegal gambling websites: when we checked the list on 8 October 2026, eight Golden Crown domains were on it, from goldencrowncasino.com to goldencrowncasino7.com. The casino itself is still running, now under Metlait SRL of Costa Rica with a Tobique Gaming Commission licence, and its site still shows Australian dollars, yet its own cookie banner asks visitors to confirm they are accessing it from outside Australia. We no longer recommend Golden Crown to Australian players, and this page explains why, what its current terms say, and what to do if you already have an account.
Crowns are meant to be shiny, Bros, but this one has a few dents. Our old review called Golden Crown a Curaçao casino run by Hollycorn N.V. and listed POLi as a deposit method. Both claims are out of date, so we have rewritten the page as an honest status review. What Happened to Golden Crown in Australia?
The Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (IGA) makes it an offence for an operator to offer online casino games to people in Australia. The offence is the operator’s, not the player’s. ACMA enforces the Act, and one of its main tools is asking Australian internet service providers to block the websites of illegal offshore casinos. ACMA reports 1,822 illegal gambling sites blocked since November 2019, as of 24 September 2026.
Golden Crown is one of them. ACMA’s published list of blocked domains, which we downloaded on 8 October 2026, contains eight Golden Crown addresses:
- goldencrowncasino.com
- goldencrowncasino1.com
- goldencrowncasino2.com
- goldencrowncasino3.com
- goldencrowncasino4.com
- goldencrowncasino5.com
- goldencrowncasino6.com
- goldencrowncasino7.com
The numbered addresses tell their own story. When a main domain is blocked, offshore casinos often move players to a near-identical “mirror” domain, and ACMA then adds that one too. Seven numbered mirrors on the list means Golden Crown has kept serving Australian traffic through new addresses after earlier blocks. We treat that pattern as a clear warning sign, whatever the casino’s licence says.
A block does not shut the casino down. It only stops the site loading through Australian internet providers that apply ACMA’s block. The casino keeps its licence elsewhere, keeps trading, and may still hold accounts and balances for Australians who signed up earlier.
Can Australians Still Play at Golden Crown?
Technically, some can reach it; practically and legally, there are good reasons not to. Three facts from Golden Crown’s own pages, read on 8 October 2026, sum it up:
- The site still targets Australians in appearance. The lobby offers an “Australian” language option, shows jackpot prize pools in AUD, and quotes bonus limits in AUD.
- The cookie banner says the opposite. To proceed, visitors are asked to confirm: “I am currently accessing this website outside of Australia”.
- The terms ban VPNs. Clause 3.2 says using a VPN to bypass geographic restrictions is prohibited and may lead to confiscation of winnings.
Put together, an Australian who clicks through that banner from home has, on the casino’s own wording, given a false statement, and an Australian who uses a VPN to get past ACMA’s block has broken clause 3.2. Either gives the casino a contractual reason to refuse a withdrawal. The legal risk under the IGA sits with the operator, but the money risk sits with you.
There is also no Australian safety net. BetStop, the National Self-Exclusion Register live since 21 August 2023, covers licensed Australian wagering providers only, so it cannot exclude you from Golden Crown. The credit card ban that has applied to licensed wagering since 11 June 2024 does not reach offshore casinos. And no Australian ombudsman or regulator will take up a complaint about an unpaid win.
Who Runs Golden Crown Now?
Golden Crown’s terms and conditions (version 1.0, effective date shown as 10.04.2026) name the operator as Metlait SRL, a company registered in Costa Rica (registration number 3-102-911867, registered in Cartago), holding e-gaming licence No. 0000064 from the Tobique Gaming Commission. The same company and licence number appear on other casino brands, including Limewin.
That is a change from our previous review, which named Hollycorn N.V. and a Curaçao licence. We removed those claims because Golden Crown’s current site does not support them.
What does a Tobique licence mean for a player? The Tobique Gaming Commission is a First Nation gaming regulator in New Brunswick, Canada. Golden Crown’s terms send unresolved complaints to EGIS, an alternative dispute resolution service that, according to the casino, operates under Tobique’s regulations (disputes go to [email protected]). Clause 17 then says all disputes must be settled by arbitration in Costa Rica, and clause 13 gives you one year from the event to bring any claim. None of that involves an Australian body.
Golden Crown’s Current Bonus Terms, Read Closely
We are not promoting this offer, but players who already hold an account deserve to know what the fine print says. The figures below come from Golden Crown’s promotions page and bonus terms as shown to an Australian connection on 8 October 2026.
| Offer | Advertised | Key AUD terms |
|---|---|---|
| First deposit | 100% match + 300 free spins | Min deposit A$45; max bet A$7 while wagering; 40x on (bonus + spin winnings); spins 30 a day for 10 days on Bonanza Billion (BGaming); spin winnings capped at A$225 |
| Second deposit | 75% up to A$750 + 50 free spins | Min deposit A$45; max bet A$3; 40x; spin winnings capped at A$225 |
| Third deposit | 50% up to A$750 | Min deposit A$45; max bet A$3; 40x; 7 days to wager |
| High roller | 50% up to A$1,500 | Min deposit A$450; 40x; 7 days to activate and 7 to wager |
| Daily cashback | Share of the previous day’s losses | No cashback below A$45 of losses; must be wagered 5x by 23:59 UTC the same day |
One number does not add up. The first-deposit card says “100% up to $15,000”, and the terms cap the match at 1,000 USD or 1,500 CAD but 15,000 AUD. A ten-fold gap between the Canadian and Australian caps looks like a typo, and the homepage banner shown to us said “100% up to 1,000$”. If you ever claim it, ask support in writing which cap applies before you deposit.
Win caps that shrink the headline
- Winnings from deposit bonuses are capped at five times the qualifying deposit, and at no more than A$7,500.
- Winnings from deposit free spins are capped at five times the deposit, and at no more than A$150, unless an offer says otherwise.
- Winnings from a sign-up no-deposit bonus or sign-up spins are capped at A$75.
- Bonuses are valid for 14 days unless a specific offer says otherwise.
A worked example
Say you deposit A$200 and take the first-deposit match. You get A$200 in bonus money. Wagering is 40x the bonus, so you must bet A$8,000 before the bonus can be withdrawn, more if the free spins win anything. At the A$7 maximum bet that is at least 1,143 spins. On pokies with a 96% return to player, A$8,000 of bets costs about A$320 on average, which is more than the A$200 bonus itself. The deposit-to-win cap then limits what you can take out of the bonus to five times your A$200 deposit, A$1,000. The bonus is a long, expensive grind with a ceiling.
Withdrawals and Account Rules That Matter
These clauses from Golden Crown’s terms are the ones most likely to affect a payout:
| Rule | What the terms say (AUD figures) |
|---|---|
| Minimum withdrawal | A$45 |
| Maximum per transaction | A$15,000; larger amounts are paid in instalments |
| Limits, total deposits under 3,000 USD | A$4,500 a day, A$15,000 a week, A$45,000 a month |
| Limits, total deposits 3,000 to 10,000 USD | A$7,500 a day, A$22,500 a week, A$45,000 a month |
| Limits, total deposits over 10,000 USD | A$15,000 a day, A$30,000 a week, A$90,000 a month |
| Big wins | Wins over 60,000 USD may be paid in monthly instalments of up to 60,000 USD (progressive jackpots paid in full) |
| Deposit turnover | Each deposit must be wagered three times before it can be withdrawn |
| Processing | Aim of 0 to 48 hours after approval; bank transfers within 3 business days; intermediary banks may charge up to €16 |
| Verification | ID, proof of address and payment method, possibly a phone call; if the casino cannot reach you within two weeks, the account is locked and the withdrawal cancelled |
| Dormant accounts | After 12 months without login or play, a fee of €20 a month can be deducted |
| Duplicate accounts | Accounts sharing an address, household, IP or device can be treated as duplicates and winnings confiscated |
The duplicate-account rule deserves attention in a share house or family home: two genuine players at one address can be treated as one, and the terms allow the casino to void both.
If You Already Have a Golden Crown Account
Plenty of Australians signed up before the blocks. If that is you, here is a sensible order of steps:
- Do not deposit again. Each new deposit adds to the balance you may struggle to withdraw, and must itself be wagered three times before withdrawal.
- Screenshot your balance and history. Save deposits, bets, bonus status and any chat transcripts in case of a dispute.
- Request a withdrawal in writing. Email [email protected] with your account details and the amount. Keep the reply.
- Complete verification promptly. The terms give you two weeks to respond to KYC and phone checks before the withdrawal is cancelled.
- Close the account. Ask for self-exclusion through the casino’s responsible gaming page, since BetStop does not cover it.
- Escalate if refused. Use the internal complaint process, then EGIS. Keep the one-year claim limit in mind.
- Talk to your bank. Most major Australian banks let you switch on a gambling block for your cards, which stops future deposits to offshore casinos.
Be wary of anyone who contacts you offering to “recover” money from an offshore casino for an upfront fee. That is a common scam aimed at people who have lost money gambling.
Safer Alternatives for Australian Players
There is no licensed online casino in Australia, so any alternative is still an offshore site with the same basic limits on your protection. What we can do is narrow the field to casinos that load from an Australian connection, do not list Australia as restricted, publish their bonus terms, and had no domains on ACMA’s list when we checked on 8 October 2026.
| Check | Golden Crown | Casinos in our list |
|---|---|---|
| Domains on ACMA’s blocked list (8 Oct 2026) | Eight | None |
| Asks you to confirm you are outside Australia | Yes, in the cookie banner | Not seen |
| Welcome wagering | 40x | 35x (BDMBet) to 40x |
| Lowest welcome deposit | A$45 | A$20 (OscarSpin) |
| Licensed in Australia | No | No |
Read our reviews of OscarSpin, Jet4Bet, Goldex, Nine Casino and BDMBet before you choose, and see our Australian review directory for the status of every brand we have covered. How to Spot the Next Golden Crown
Golden Crown is not unusual. Many brands follow the same path: launch, target Australia, get blocked, move to numbered mirrors. These signs suggest a casino is on that road:
- A domain with a number added to the brand name (brand1.com, brand7.com).
- A change of operator or licence without any announcement to players.
- Terms that ban Australians, or ask you to confirm you are outside Australia, while the lobby quotes AUD.
- Promo cards and bonus terms that disagree on the size of the offer.
- Withdrawal caps tied to how much you have deposited.
You can check any domain yourself on ACMA’s blocked gambling websites page before you sign up.
FAQ
Is Golden Crown Casino legal in Australia?
No online casino is licensed to offer casino games to people in Australia. Offering them is an offence for the operator under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, not for the player. ACMA has eight Golden Crown domains on its blocked list (checked 8 October 2026).
Is Golden Crown Casino still open?
Yes. The casino was trading on 8 October 2026 under Metlait SRL (Costa Rica) with Tobique Gaming Commission licence No. 0000064. It is blocked by Australian internet providers that apply ACMA’s list, not closed.
Who owns Golden Crown Casino?
Its current terms name Metlait SRL, registration number 3-102-911867, registered in Cartago, Costa Rica. Older reviews, including our previous one, named Hollycorn N.V. and a Curaçao licence; the current site does not.
Can I use a VPN to play at Golden Crown?
Golden Crown’s own terms (clause 3.2) prohibit using a VPN to get around geographic restrictions and allow the casino to confiscate winnings if you do. A VPN puts your balance at risk.
How do I withdraw my money from Golden Crown?
Request a withdrawal in writing to [email protected], complete verification within two weeks, and keep records. The minimum is A$45 and the maximum per transaction A$15,000. If the casino refuses, use its complaint process and then EGIS.
Does BetStop block Golden Crown?
No. BetStop covers licensed Australian wagering providers only. Use Golden Crown’s own self-exclusion and your bank’s gambling block instead.
Why are NetEnt games missing at Golden Crown for Australians?
The casino’s terms say NetEnt games are not available in Australia and Amatic games are restricted in Australia. Those game studios do not supply Australian players.
