What Happened: ACMA’s June 2026 Block

Online casinos cannot be licensed in Australia. Under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (IGA), offering online casino games and online pokies to people in Australia is an offence for the operator, and advertising them is prohibited. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) investigates offshore sites and, when it finds a breach, asks Australian internet service providers to block them.

On 25 June 2026 ACMA announced its latest batch. The release said investigations had found the services to be operating in breach of the IGA and listed twelve brands: 7Signs, Chromabet.org (imitating the licensed ChromaBet service), Donbet, Duospin, Freshbet, Slots Gem, Jacks Club, Lucky Start, Pointsbetz.com (imitating the licensed PointsBet service), Spinrise, Vinyl Casino and Wildsino. At that time ACMA counted 1,751 illegal gambling and affiliate websites blocked since its first request in November 2019. By 24 September 2026 the total had reached 1,822.

One detail matters for anyone checking for themselves. ACMA’s published list is a list of domains, not brand names, and slotsgem.com was not on it when we checked on 8 October 2026. A domain search alone would have told you SlotsGem was clear. The brand-level release says otherwise, which is why we now check both before recommending any casino.

Why SlotsGem Still Opens From Australia

Blocking is done by internet providers against specific addresses, and offshore casinos commonly rotate between mirror domains. On 8 October 2026 the SlotsGem lobby we loaded from Australia was served in part from a second domain, sg512.com, alongside slotsgem.com, and showed an Australian jackpot counter of A$191,250. A casino that still opens is not one that is allowed to serve you, and it does not change the risks below.
