WinBay Casino Review: Blocked by ACMA (Status Update)

We no longer recommend WinBay to Australian players, because ACMA has blocked it. The regulator’s media release of 11 December 2025 named WinBay among offshore casinos it had found breaching the Interactive Gambling Act, and winbay3.com is on ACMA’s published blocked list (checked 16 October 2026). How WinBay Ended Up on ACMA’s Blocked List

Here is the short version of the law. The Interactive Gambling Act 2001 bans offering online casino games and online pokies to Australians, and Australia issues no licences for them, so every online casino that takes Australian players is offshore and outside the Act. ACMA, the regulator, investigates those sites and asks local internet providers to block the ones it finds in breach. As of 24 September 2026 it had blocked 1,822 since November 2019.

WinBay was part of the batch ACMA announced on 11 December 2025. PowerUP Casino and Vegasino were named in that release too, and their reviews carry the same status now. It is one of the more recent blocks, which is why the page has only now been rewritten.

A Site That Opens Is Not a Site That Is Allowed

ACMA’s blocks are applied by each internet provider against specific addresses, and offshore casinos rotate between mirror domains, so a blocked brand can still open on some connections. That tells you nothing about whether it is allowed to serve you. It is not, and the risks below apply either way.

Do not use a VPN to get around a block or a casino’s country rules. Offshore casino terms routinely treat a disguised location as a breach and let the casino keep any winnings and close the account.

If You Already Play at WinBay

Plenty of Aussies opened accounts before the block. If that is you, here is the order we would tackle it in.

1. Stop depositing. Any new deposit adds to the amount at risk, so switch off saved cards and auto top-ups too.
2. Take screenshots of your balance, pending withdrawals, bonus status and transaction history, with dates.
3. Deal with any active bonus. Bonus money usually locks your balance until wagering is complete. If you only want your cash, ask support in writing to cancel the bonus first.
4. Get verification done early. Offshore casinos hold payouts until ID, address and payment checks clear, so upload clear copies once and keep a record of when you sent them.
5. Mind the withdrawal caps. Check the daily, weekly and monthly limits in the cashier or terms before you request a large amount, because a big balance may come out in instalments.
6. Put the request in writing. Use live chat or email rather than phone, and save the transcripts.
7. Know the dispute route. No Australian regulator, ombudsman or tribunal can order an offshore casino to pay. Look for a licence number in the casino’s footer; if there is one, that regulator’s complaints process is the only formal route left. If you paid by card, ask your bank about its dispute process, but do not expect a chargeback to succeed on gambling losses you authorised.
