Ethereum switched from mining to proof of stake on 15 September 2022, an upgrade known as The Merge. Since then, validators propose blocks in fixed 12-second slots. Thirty-two slots make an epoch of about 6.4 minutes, and a block is considered finalised after two epochs, roughly 13 minutes. Sending a token such as USDT on Ethereum uses more gas than a plain ETH transfer, because the token’s contract has to run, so expect a noticeably higher fee for the same gas price. Gas prices change by the minute; your wallet shows the current figure before you confirm.

When to send: gas timing

Ethereum’s base fee adjusts automatically from block to block, rising by up to 12.5% after a full block and falling after quieter ones. That means fees track demand closely: a busy hour can cost several times more than a quiet one, and the base fee can drop again within minutes once activity eases. For casino deposits there is rarely a reason to pay for top priority. A modest tip gets you into a block quickly when the network is calm, and if the fee estimate looks high, waiting half an hour is often cheaper than paying it. If a deposit is urgent, most wallets offer a “fast” setting that raises the priority fee.

What the casino does with your deposit

Your wallet will happily send “ETH” on any of them to the same address. But a casino’s deposit address only watches the network its processor supports, and that is normally Ethereum mainnet unless the cashier says otherwise.

• Send on the network the cashier names. If it says Ethereum or ERC-20, use Ethereum mainnet.
• Exchanges often default to cheaper networks. When withdrawing ETH from an exchange straight to a casino, check the network dropdown. Choosing a layer 2 because the fee is lower can mean the deposit never arrives.
• USDT exists on several networks. USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20) and USDT on Tron (TRC-20) are not interchangeable. Goldex and Jet4Bet take USDT; use exactly the network shown for the address you copied.
• Recovery is not guaranteed. The Nine platform will not try to recover coins sent to the wrong network unless they exceed EUR 5,000, and then charges 0.1 BTC. Other processors may not be able to help at all.

USDT and Other Tokens: Read the Network Line Twice

Goldex and Jet4Bet both take Tether (USDT), which many players prefer to ETH because it tracks the US dollar instead of swinging with crypto prices. The catch is that USDT is issued on several blockchains, and each version only works on its own network.

Two practical points follow. First, an ERC-20 and a BEP-20 address look identical, so the address alone does not tell you the network; the cashier’s network label does. Second, to send USDT on Ethereum you need a little ETH in the same wallet to pay the gas. A wallet holding only USDT cannot send it. Step by Step: Depositing ETH from Australia

1. Buy ETH on an AUSTRAC-registered exchange. Australian crypto exchanges must be registered with AUSTRAC before trading with customers. Fund your account from a bank account in your own name.
2. Move ETH to a wallet you control (optional but sensible). A software wallet gives you control over network and gas settings and receives casino payouts directly.

My ETH deposit has not arrived

Look up the transaction hash on a block explorer for Ethereum mainnet. If it is not there, you may have sent on a layer 2 or another chain; check the same hash on that network’s explorer, then contact support. If it is confirmed on mainnet but not credited, send support the hash, amount and time.

The transaction is stuck as pending

The gas price was too low for current demand. Many wallets let you speed it up or cancel it by sending a replacement with the same nonce and a higher fee. Do not send a second deposit while the first is pending.

I sent USDT on the wrong network

Contact support immediately with the hash. Whether it can be recovered depends on the processor; on the Nine platform, only amounts above EUR 5,000 are chased, for 0.1 BTC.
