Cherry Gold is blocked in Australia: three Cherry Gold domains are on ACMA’s published blocked list, including cherrygoldclub.com (checked 16 October 2026). ACMA, the federal regulator, also acted against the software side of the business on 8 August 2022, when it formally warned Proxous, the company supplying the games, for providing gaming products to illegal online casinos. We no longer recommend Cherry Gold to anyone in Australia. This Cherry Gold review now sets out what happened, what it means if you still have an account, and which casinos we review that do accept Australians.

This page used to read very differently, Bros. Our old Cherry Gold review said its Curaçao licence ensured “that everything is done according to the law”. We have pulled the rating and every sign-up link, and rebuilt the page from ACMA’s own records.

The alternatives listed at the top of this page all accepted Australians and were not on ACMA’s blocked list when we checked in October 2026. None holds an Australian licence, because Australia does not license online casinos. If gambling is causing you stress, call Gambling Help Online on 1800 858 858, free and any time.

Why ACMA Blocked Cherry Gold

Australia does not license online casinos. Under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (IGA), offering online casino games or online pokies to people in Australia is an offence for the operator, and advertising them is banned as well. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) enforces the Act, and one of its main tools is website blocking: it asks Australian internet providers to block sites it has found in breach. ACMA reported 1,822 sites blocked since November 2019, as of 24 September 2026.

Cherry Gold belongs to the group of casinos that ran on Proxous software. ACMA’s release of 8 August 2022 announced a formal warning to Proxous for providing gaming products to illegal online casinos, and the group’s casino domains sit on the blocked list. The same group includes BoVegas, Free Spin Casino and Two Up Casino, which we used to review as well, and their reviews now carry the same status. The list now holds 3 addresses for the brand. That pattern usually means the casino keeps switching to fresh mirror domains as the old ones are blocked, and ACMA keeps adding the mirrors as it finds them. The block is not new: it dates back to August 2022, and our review should have caught up with it long before now.

If Cherry Gold Still Loads on Your Connection

ACMA’s blocks are applied by each internet provider against specific addresses, and offshore casinos rotate between mirror domains, so a blocked brand can still open on some connections. That tells you nothing about whether it is allowed to serve you. It is not, and the risks below apply either way.

Using a VPN or picking another country at sign-up is a bad idea. Most offshore terms say a false location voids winnings, and you would be giving the casino a ready-made reason to refuse a payout.

Still Holding a Balance at Cherry Gold?

Plenty of Aussies opened accounts before the block. If that is you, here is the order we would tackle it in.

  1. Stop topping up. Every new deposit adds to what you could lose if the account is frozen.
  2. Screenshot everything: balance, active bonuses, pending withdrawals and your transaction history, with the date showing.
  3. Check whether a bonus is running. Withdrawing during wagering normally forfeits the bonus and its winnings, and some casinos block the withdrawal altogether. Ask support in writing to remove it if you just want your cash.
  4. Complete verification once, properly. Expect to send photo ID, proof of address and proof of payment. Send clear copies, keep the originals and note the date.
  5. Mind the withdrawal caps. Check the daily, weekly and monthly limits in the cashier or terms before you request a large amount, because a big balance may come out in instalments.
  6. Request the withdrawal in writing through live chat or email, and save every transcript.
  7. Know the dispute route. No Australian regulator, ombudsman or tribunal can order an offshore casino to pay. Our old review named a licence from Curaçao; if the casino still shows a licence in its footer, that regulator’s complaints process is the only formal route left. If you paid by card, ask your bank about its dispute process, but do not expect a chargeback to succeed on gambling losses you authorised.

BetStop, the National Self-Exclusion Register, does not cover offshore casinos, so if you want out for good, ask Cherry Gold to close and exclude your account directly. For free, confidential support, Gambling Help Online is on 1800 858 858. Our responsible gaming page lists more services.

What Our Old Cherry Gold Review Said

For anyone comparing notes, these are the main points our previous Cherry Gold review made. They are recorded here as old claims; we have not rechecked them against Cherry Gold’s current pages, and they do not change its status.

  • Operator: Blue Media N.V.
  • Licence: Curaçao
  • Launched: 2017
  • Welcome offer: a 270% pokies match
  • Verdict: Said its Curaçao licence ensured “that everything is done according to the law”

However the licence is described, it does not make Cherry Gold legal for Australians. No foreign licence permits online casino games or pokies to be offered here, and the block shows ACMA has found Cherry Gold in breach.

Casinos We Review That Accept Australians

Every brand on our Australian pages has to pass the same checks, and we rerun them regularly:

  1. None of its domains is on ACMA’s published blocked-websites list.
  2. The brand is not named in any of ACMA’s blocking releases.
  3. Its Australian lobby loads from an Australian connection and Australia is not on its restricted-country list.
  4. There is no “confirm you are outside Australia” declaration or similar trap in its pages.

The full reviews of OscarSpin, Nine Casino, Jet4Bet and Goldex explain what each one offers Australians and where the catches are. All four passed our October 2026 checks; all four are offshore. Our safer casino guide covers the warning signs, and the Australian reviews hub shows the status of every brand we have rechecked.

Cherry Gold FAQ

Has ACMA blocked Cherry Gold?

Yes. 3 Cherry Gold domains are on ACMA’s blocked list (checked 16 October 2026), and ACMA formally warned the group’s games supplier, Proxous, on 8 August 2022.

Can Australians legally play at Cherry Gold?

The IGA offence belongs to the operator, not the player. But you have no Australian regulator to help in a dispute, access can disappear at any time, and the casino’s own terms may let it void winnings if you are in a restricted location.

Can I still get my money out of Cherry Gold?

Stop depositing, screenshot your balance, cancel any active bonus, complete verification and request the withdrawal in writing, keeping within the cashier limits. Save every support transcript.

Is Cherry Gold licensed?

Our old review gave the licence as Curaçao, with the operator named as Blue Media N.V.. We have not rechecked that for this update, and no offshore licence makes online casino games legal to offer in Australia.

What are the alternatives to Cherry Gold for Australians?

OscarSpin, Nine Casino, Jet4Bet and Goldex accepted Australians and were not blocked or named by ACMA when we checked in October 2026. All are offshore with no Australian licence, so read their reviews and terms first.
